SILC Learning Support Services offers the use of computer classrooms, seminar spaces, and a collaborative project-based learning classroom to faculty and students within the School. Instructors may reserve any of these spaces for class sessions by filling out the LSS Facilities Request Form. If there is no scheduled class activity in these rooms, students may use the facilities on a walk-in basis.

These small group spaces will hold up to 6 people. The contain a large wall-mounted screen, one MacOS computer with wireless keyboard and mouse, and the ability to cast multiple laptop screens to the large screen.
These small group space, will hold up to 2 people and contain one MacOS workstation equipped with a webcam, high quality microphone headset, and software for creating screencasts and other materials. The space are available to SILC faculty, including TAs and faculty associates, and SILC students. Onsite support is available during LSS hours of operation.
The Collaboratory is intended to support student collaboration, project-based learning, videoconferencing and film. Its flexible design allows for up to 36 students to use the space at a given time, in many different furniture configurations. When the room is not in use, the six "pods" can be individually reserved. The presenter's setup consists of iMac running MacOS only, wireless laptop display capability (via Cynap), 2 large touch screen at the front of the room, and 6 slightly smaller touchscreens around the room. The room also contains "Type A" Zoom capabilities ("Zoom Rooms" computer, ceiling speakers, ceiling microphone).
The computer classroom seats 30 students and contains MacMini computers capable of running both Windows and MacOS, with dual screens at most stations. The presenter's setup consists of MacMini running MacOS and Windows also, wireless laptop display capability (via Cynap and Solstice), 1 large touch screen at the front of the room, and 6 slightly smaller screens around the room. The room also contains Zoom capabilities ("Zoom Rooms" computer, ceiling speakers, ceiling microphone for the entire room, 2 Zoom cameras).
This video studio, equipped with a high-definition camera and green screen is set up to allow faculty and students to quickly produce high-quality video materials that include elements such as still images, presentations, documents, or clips for face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. Students are limited to 15-minute blocks of studio time that must be reserved via their instructor. Faculty may reserve multiple blocks of 30-minute recording sessions. In order to ensure efficient use of this facility, we ask that patrons come rehearsed and prepared to record. This space is available to faculty and students, including TAs and faculty associates. Onsite support is available during LSS hours of operation.
